| ARCX was inspired by the nature-based principles of Platonic solid geometry. ARCX combines the Icosahedron with another Platonic solid, the structurally weaker Dodecahedron, to create a dual geometry with structural qualities surpassing both. The vertices of the subdivided rhombic triacontahedron and the midpoints of its rhombic planes were calculated by Mathematics Professor Brigitte Servatius to project outwards to an imaginary circumscribing sphere which Dr. Servatius has named the Geodesic Triacontahedron. |
